High Hopes arr. Doug Adams, Grade 2
Doug Adams’ arrangement of Panic! At the Disco’s chart-topping pop-rock anthem is going to excite your string orchestra and audience. It will be hard to stop them from singing along. Scored perfectly for younger string orchestras, students will fill the hall with a rich sound and strong rhythmic presence.

Greater Than by Brian Balmages, Grade 1-3.5
Commissioned by the National String Project Consortium, this gorgeous lyrical work can be performed alone as an intermediate level piece, or with multi-level supplemental parts (available separately) for beginning and developing string students. Orchestrated to celebrate inclusion and diversity, the multi-level option is designed to sound far “greater than” the intermediate version alone. Not your traditional festival orchestra piece by any means.

mahler's mysterious march jim palmer

Mahler’s Mysterious March by Gustav Mahler/arr. Jim Palmer, Grade 1.5
This piece is based on a minor version of “Frère Jacques” as heard in Gustav Mahler’s first symphony. The haunting melody and creative variations will capture the students’ interest right away. The wide range of dynamics and contrasting styles in this theme and variation setting create a beautiful piece for the concert and festival stage.

Colors of Home by Alan Lee Silva, Grade 3
A loving portrait of life growing up in the pastoral foothills of Northern California, “Colors of Home” conveys a warm Americana feeling, featuring beautifully nuanced melodic themes and carefully crafted harmonies.
