Choir Builders for Growing Voices 2
Recommended by Rachel Steele, School Choral Specialist
While a consistent routine in your rehearsal is great for students, changing up a couple of warm-ups can really liven things up. Rollo Dilworth, renowned composer, conductor and educator, has come out with a second volume featuring 24 fun and instructional warm-ups for your elementary or middle school choirs. Each of the 24 selections details which vocal skills are enhanced by that particular warm-up, and includes optional accompaniments for body percussion, classroom instruments and/or Orff instruments. If you are less than comfortable with your piano skills, an accompaniment CD is also included. The CD’s demonstration tracks can be used for listening or quick learning, while the accompaniment-only tracks are great for assessing your students’ progress. Come back after break with a fresh spring in your step that will engage your students for the rest of the year.
