Two New VanderCook Marches Available!

For over a century, the name H.A. (Hale A.) VanderCook has been familiar to countless music students for his studies, etudes, and solos (Rubank’s Trumpet Stars, Trombone Gems, etc.).  In 1909, he founded the VanderCook Cornet School, for the express purpose of training performers, directors, and music educators.  Today, VanderCook College of Music remains one of the most prestigious music schools in the country.

Less well-known is his gift for composing marches.  A former circus band leader, VanderCook crafted over 70 marches during his lifetime of teaching and conducting.  We are proud to feature two of these wonderfully expressive and entertaining works, in authentic new editions.  Rediscover a true leader and innovator in American music education with these splendid, invigorating gems.

Cincinnatus dates to Vandercook’s days as a circus bandmaster in the 1890’s.  It is pure march gold, with the unmistakable thrill and non-stop excitement of the Big Top, and the flawless craftsmanship of an American march master.

The American Stride is as classic and inspiring as a march can be.  Proud, stately, and brimming with colorful minor chord shifts, this decisive work is proof positive that marches don’t have to be fast to be impressive.

Both marches are in-stock and readily available from Stanton’s – 1-800-426-8742. Shop Stanton’s for all your sheet music needs!
