“And the Oscar goes to…!”

The 2010 Academy Awards will be held this Sunday, March 7th. Millions of viewers will tune in for the fashion, the potentially awkward speeches and the celebrity tributes, but here at Stanton’s, we think the music is the highlight of the ceremony! Check out these selections from Oscar nominated films and composers.

Almost There” from The Princess and the Frog
Down in New Orleans” from The Princess and the Frog

Both of these Disney hits are included in The Princess and the Frog collection for piano/vocal/guitar. There is also a choral medley from the movie that comes in SATB, SAB and 2-part which includes portions of the two Oscar nominated numbers. (Contact us for other choral arrangements from the film!)

Take it All” from Nine

This song and 10 others from the star-studded film are part of the new Nine piano/vocal/guitar folio released in conjunction with the film. In addition to the sheet music, this collection also includes a plot synopsis, notes on the project’s genesis, and stunning photos from the film.

The Weary Kind” from Crazy Heart

Featuring “The Weary Kind” as well as 13 others featured in the film, the piano/vocal/guitar collection from Crazy Heart is in the works at the publisher and will be available soon. Get your guitar tuned up and call 1-800-42-MUSIC to place your copy on reserve today!

There is an excellent collection of the music of Avatar available, as well as a choral arrangement of the pop hit “I See You.” Check our previous blog on Avatar for more information.
