Organ Music Reading Session

On September 10th, Stanton’s was pleased to present another organ music reading session at Broad St United Methodist Church in Columbus, Ohio. The leader of the reading session was Brian Johnson, organist at Broad St UMC. New sacred organ music was presented, which included Christmas and Advent Music, music for fall, and general purpose use.

We get many, many requests for instrumental arrangements of contemporary Christian music. Regrettably, most of the arrangements heard in worship settings are not published. To the rescue comes Hal Leonard, the publisher of the highly acclaimed Real Book series! One of the newest additions to the series is The Real Worship Book. Although it doesn’t contain full-blown arrangements, it is chock full of highly accurate lead sheets to many of today’s most popular contemporary Christian tunes.

The Real Worship Book contains 200 of CCLI‘s top-ranked songs plus a large selection of both new and classic favorites by songwriters such as Chris Tomlin, Paul Baloche, Matt Redman, and many others. Each song includes melody,chords and lyrics, in both singable and guitar-friendly keys whenever possible. (Guitar capo chords are provided when needed.)

Currently the C Instrument book is the only one available but the transposed books should soon follow.

Casting Crowns-Peace on Earth

The Grammy and Dove-award winning group Casting Crowns has released its 2008 album, Peace on Earth, in print.  On November 4, 2009, this album was declared “gold” by the RIAA. It had sold over 500,000 copies. This collection contains all 10 songs from the recording  in piano/vocal/guitar format.

 Traditional favorites include “Joy to the World”;  new songs include “Christmas Offering” and “While You Were Sleeping”.  The last piece in the book is an advanced violin solo with lovely piano accompaniment for “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel”.  If you are looking for new Christmas songs, this book is worth a close look.  If you play the violin, or have a friend who does, this book merits an even closer look.

Christian Guitar Songs

This collection of 10 contemporary worship songs includes a CD with both demo tracks and play-along tracks for all 10 songs. Songs are written both in standard notation and tablature, and include chords and words for each title.

These favorite worship songs include “Strong Tower” and “In Christ Alone“. Written  by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend in  2002,  ”In Christ Alone”  has a haunting melody and words that tell about Jesus’  life, death, resurrection,  and what His finished work means to us as Christians. Happy 50th Anniversary Stanton’s!

2010 is a very exciting year for us here at Stanton’s Sheet Music – we’re celebrating our 50th Anniversary!  Founded in August of 1960 by Columbus, Ohio native John Stanton, Stanton’s Sheet Music has grown over the last 50 years from a humble “mom and pop” storefront to our current status as one of the largest sheet music retailers in the country.  We are fortunate to have become a valuable and trusted resource for musicians because of our commitment to quality products and personal customer service; a commitment we continue to build upon.
